When it comes to experience, I haven't really gotten much professional experience because I am still pretty young. But I was lucky enough to intern at an accounting firm towards the ending of my Senior year in high school. I had received my first internship at AGT Tax and Insurance where we focused on safe money, life insurance policies, and were even an accounting firm during the tax busy season! While working in the office during tax season, you really get to know your co workers quick! The office gets so busy that you really only talk to people around you in the office, go home, sleep, and come back to the office to repeat the same process. After my internship had finished, I got offered full-time at the firm and have been working there since. Although I am a Math- Education major, working at an accounting firm was kind of fun (just wasn't related too much to my major)!
During the school year, I have been working part-time at the firm so I had time to student observe at other schools, in order to get my hours in and pass my classes. I observed at Roosevelt High School and Norhtbrook Junior High School. Both schools have been such an experience to observe at. I was grateful for the teachers I got to work with and even the students! Everyone was beyond helpful and showed me the ropes to some future obstacles I will encounter. I want to continue observing at middle schools, since my focus has changed from high school to middle school. Nothing wrong with high school, it's just that I find the middle school students a little more determined and motivated to learn!
